I am so proud of my student Aaron (10th grade) for successfully auditioning for the Senior District Festival and scoring an incredible 190 out of 200!

Aaron also received a recommendation for the All-State audition, which is a great opportunity to take his skill to the next level.

As his teacher, I couldn't be more proud of how far he has come. Watching Aaron grow as a flutist and musician has been an absolute joy, and I can't wait to see all the great things he does in the future. 🎶✨

🍁 Autumn Leaves Concert 🎶

On November 3, we had the honor of participating in the inspiring Autumn Leaves concert, a celebration of music that brought together local talent and internationally acclaimed soloists. Held in a warm and inviting atmosphere, the event showcased a rich variety of performances and ensembles, highlighting the incredible diversity and artistry of the musicians involved.

Our flute studio was thrilled to be part of this special concert!

Thank you to everyone who supported the event and made it such a memorable experience! I am so proud of my students for their hard work and dedication - it truly shone through in their performances. 🌟🎶

Our Flute Pedagogy Course, part 2 went great!

We worked with younger students on long tones, scales and pieces, learning how to structure lessons, give clear homework and directions on how to practice and get fast results, while motivating and encouraging beginner students.

We played "Escape the music room" games with 2 teams, music instrument bingo, World Instruments Jeopardy, and were introduced to playing modern music with elements of improvisation.

In this group lesson for the Beginner-Intermediate level, we reviewed the music history time line and conducted in-depth research on 12 composers. 

Following this, we enjoyed two rounds of Jeopardy focusing on orchestral instruments and composers. 

At the end we had one winner who received the main prize (a cool candle) and everyone else received prizes for active participation.

Group lessons are included in the year curriculum for all students and cover music history, theory, rhythm development and ensembles.
